About the Founders
In 2010, Jill and Kim Spruance decided to turn their shared vision into a company, founding Basilwood Farm. Located in Prather, California, they wanted to make it a place where nature, craftsmanship, and community could flourish.
Jill, with her insatiable curiosity and creative spirit, researched raw goat milk soap making. With this passion and desire to craft products that genuinely benefited people, the foundation was laid for their business. Kim's knack for logistics and business acumen and brought structure to the dream.
From the start, Jill and Kim envisioned more than a product—they wanted to create an experience of natural, wholesome care. Together, they built a farm-based small business that feels like an extension of their family. What sets them apart is their authenticity—they use every product themselves and test each recipe until it’s perfect.
Today, Basilwood Farm offers more than just skincare. It’s a community hub where people can learn, laugh, and reconnect through on-farm workshops and events. For Jill and Kim, it’s always been about more than selling soap; it’s about nourishing lives and making connections.
“My Mom always told me I could do whatever I put my mind to, and I believed her!”
